COVID Parenting
The lives of everyone changed drastically last year as the COVID-19 pandemic began, especially the lives of parents. Parenting changed for everyone around the world as all children, teens and young adults were now going to be home. I was self-employed when Covid-19 happened, and fortunately, I was able to work from home. Almost all parents had to adapt to their work/home life.
Focus on work became tough as I was tasked with staying at home with the kids and trying to run my business at the same time. My nanny normally would take care of my two young children, both under the age of two, during the workweek. However, now due to the pandemic, she had to be home to take care of her own children.
This made being home with children all day every day a job in itself and having my profession on top of that was an interesting challenge.
After several months of exciting grocery trips, playing with endless toys, and tackling my daily work in between.
Eventually, I was able to return to the office and my nanny came back to work at the house. Shortly after, we decided to move to a new city and the rest is history.
I hope this perspective on the stress parents had to deal with during this pandemic has shown the world the importance of child care and home care services to those who are in need mentally and physically.
